It all started when…

It was March 2020 and covid had thrown the wedding industry into disarray.
One night, sometime around 4am, Mel had a brainwave.
She woke up and quickly contacted her Cele-buddies Klara, Zena and Kate, inviting them to join her in the new business idea, of which they agreed without a moment’s hesitation.

People needed a way to get married safely, but why not offer an option that showed innovation, class and a large dose of pizazz.

Enter cool cars and even cooler locations and the birth of I Do Drive Thru.

Eight days later the website was up, press release launched and the response was enormous.
By the end of day one, they’d been on three radio stations, in two major newspapers and and enjoyed their first (of many) TV appearance on Channel nine 6pm news.

Melbourne welcomed the Drive Thru concept with open arms, and Adelaide quickly caught wind with Sydney and Brisbane close on the coat tails.
Within a month or so, the media frenzy had ensured rapid growth in every capital city and many regions all over the country.

But the story doesn’t stop in Australia, with several cities in America joining the party… the sky, it seems, is the limit.

As it turns out, love in a time of covid gives new meaning to the ‘just married’ sign on a wedding car.

Starting a business during COVID has been nothing short of bizarre, with the four ladies managing to create, launch and run the entire business via phone, email and  this new thing called Zoom everyone’s talking about.

From the very beginning, the enthusiasm of everyone they contracted was palpable.

People were so grateful to be offered work when the rest of the wedding industry had come crashing down, and the camaraderie and passion helped catapult their success further.

The media coverage has been extensive, from nightly news stories in most states to newspaper articles to dozens of radio interviews to Vogue to Sunrise, to The Urban List and the Today show; it’s been one wild ride!

The girls are extremely proud of what they have created, not only from a business sense, but more so for the hundreds of couples they have married, during a time of such hardship.
It’s been a challenge, but the couples’ love for one another and being able to share in it, has been the biggest reward of all.
