Many people wonder ‘How do you elope in Australia?’ and it is so hard to know where to start that they simply head off to the Registry Office because that is what they do in the movies. But at I Do Drive Thru, we can do better for you!

The need for couples to elope has been around for decades. Often elopements were done in secret and it was was a means to an end for couples to take the Registry Office option. In some cases it was even a bit taboo.

Times have changed and eloping in Australia is easy.

The introduction of Covid 19 into our lives has wreaked havoc on many aspects of our lives, none less so than on the wedding industry.

We understand that marrying couples are being forced with dealing with guest restrictions, social distancing measures and last minute lockdowns and it is making it extremely difficult to cope with any form of wedding planning.

That’s why we created the I Do Drive Thru, as an alternative to a Registry Office Wedding.

The Registry Office offers plain ceremonies in plain buildings and we find that they have not updated with the times, nor have they adapted to change and made elopements enjoyable, fun and something to be proud of.

That’s why we have taken weddings outside instead of at Government buildings.  You can complete your paperwork with us online, choose any location to marry in and anytime, we can even marry you at twilight, at midnight or at sunrise.

We also offer a very diverse range of ceremonies that run for 2, 5 or 7 minutes, and although they are templated like the Registry Office you can add personalised vows, ring exchanges and include plenty of gorgeous photo opportunities.

Speaking of elopement photographers, we offer some of Australia’s best.  Wedding Photographers were some of the hardest hit by Covid, so we have managed to give them some work by getting them to assist us by being our I Do Drive Thru Elopement Photographers.  Their packages start from just $400 and you can see by all the photos on our website that our own elopement photographers have taken, they produce the most amazing photos for our eloping couples.

And our Celebrants both here in Australia and in the USA are some of the diverse Celebrants internationally.  We have young, old, gay, straight, mothers, fathers, techie’s, non-techie’s, millennials, motorbike riding Celebrants.  At the I Do Drive Thru we also have, drag-queens, indigenous people, witches and bi-lingual individuals that at their core want to help people get married in the most relaxed, fun way possible and the relationship you will establish with your Celebrant will last a long longer than the one month waiting period to get married.

We want to keep couples away from the Registry Office in Melbourne, the Registry Office in Adelaide and the Registry Office in Brisbane, because we think we can do better.
