Please read carefully before proceeding to payment. By completing a booking with I Do Drive Thru you agree to all terms below.
1. Bookings and Payment
1.1 Full fees for Celebrant and Photography services must be paid in full before a booking is confirmed. Bookings are not confirmed until you receive a written confirmation email from I Do Drive Thru acknowledging receipt of payment and confirming your date is available. If your preferred date is unavailable, we will suggest an alternative.
1.2 All fees are non-refundable under any circumstances, including change of mind, personal circumstances, or relationship breakdown.
1.3 If full payment has not been received prior to the ceremony, it is at the Celebrant's discretion whether to proceed.
1.4 Any refund issued by I Do Drive Thru for extenuating circumstances will incur a $50 administration fee.
2. Postponements and Rescheduling
2.1 A postponement of up to 12 months may be granted if requested in writing. A reschedule fee of $220 applies per service (Celebrant and Photographer separately) for each new date set.
2.2 Rescheduling includes interstate transfers. All prior payments and paperwork will be made available to I Do Drive Thru Celebrants and Photographers in the relevant state. An interstate transfer fee of $220 applies per service.
2.3 All reschedule requests must be submitted in writing and confirmed by I Do Drive Thru before the new date is actioned.
2.4 Cancellation with less than 24 hours notice forfeits all fees paid. No exceptions.
3. Pricing and Additional Fees
3.1 Travel fees apply for ceremony locations more than 20km from a capital city centre, for the Celebrant, Photographer, and any supplied witnesses. Any location more than 500m from available car parking will also incur an additional travel fee. Please enquire for an individual quote before booking.
3.2 Parking fees of $22 may apply for CBD ceremonies and ceremonies at hotels where parking costs are incurred. This fee is charged at our discretion.
3.3 After-hours fees apply outside standard booking hours. Monday to Thursday ceremonies must take place between 10am and 4pm. Friday to Sunday ceremonies before 12pm must take place between 9am and 12pm. Friday to Sunday ceremonies after 12pm must take place between 12pm and 6pm. Ceremonies outside these hours incur an additional fee of $220 per service. Midnight ceremonies incur an additional fee of $250 per service.
3.4 Peak period surcharges apply to public holidays, state holidays, special event dates, and Valentine's Day. Please contact us before booking on these dates for a quote.
3.5 Late arrival fee — should either marrying party arrive more than 15 minutes late, a flat fee of $200 will be charged. The Celebrant and Photographer reserve the right to depart and return at a later time where multiple bookings are scheduled in the same day.
3.6 Second location fee of $220 applies if a second ceremony site or photography location is required more than 150m from the original booked location.
4. Legal Requirements
4.1 Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) — Under the Marriage Act 1961, a NOIM must be lodged with the Celebrant at least one month and no more than 18 months before the ceremony date. It is the client's responsibility to ensure the NOIM is returned to I Do Drive Thru within the required timeframe. I Do Drive Thru accepts no responsibility for ceremonies that cannot legally proceed due to a NOIM not being lodged in time.
4.2 Identity documents — The Celebrant must sight original birth certificates and/or passports, divorce certificates (where applicable), photo ID, and any other documents required under the Marriage Act 1961 prior to the ceremony. If these documents are not provided, the ceremony cannot legally proceed and no refund will be given.
4.3 Consent — As required under the Marriage Act 1961, the Celebrant will meet with each marrying party separately prior to the ceremony to confirm free and voluntary consent to marry. This is a brief but legally required step and applies to all bookings.
4.4 Witnesses — Two witnesses must be present at every marriage ceremony under Australian law. If the couple cannot provide witnesses, I Do Drive Thru can supply them at an additional cost of $120 per witness when booked in conjunction with other services, or $240 per witness as a standalone service at the Registry Office.
4.5 Sobriety — Should either marrying party or their witnesses arrive at the ceremony under the apparent influence of alcohol or drugs, the Celebrant reserves the right to decline to proceed with the ceremony under the Marriage Act 1961. No refund will be given.
4.6 The client acknowledges receipt of the Happily Ever Before and After Pamphlet and the Code of Conduct for Marriage Celebrants, both of which are available at idodrivethru.com.au/fineprint and at ag.gov.au.
5. Guest Numbers
5.1 Guest limits apply strictly as per the package purchased. Guests are defined as any person present at the ceremony including the marrying couple and witnesses. Babies held in arms do not count toward the total guest count.
5.2 Package guest limits are: Vegas Package — up to 10 guests · Fancy Pants Package — up to 25 guests · Big Kahuna Package — up to 100 guests.
5.3 If the Celebrant arrives at the ceremony and the guest count exceeds the purchased package limit, they reserve the right to decline to proceed until the appropriate package upgrade fee is paid. No refund will be given if the ceremony cannot proceed due to excess guests.
6. Celebrant and Photographer Assignment
6.1 Celebrants and Photographers are assigned based on availability. Clients cannot request a specific Celebrant or Photographer.
6.2 I Do Drive Thru reserves the right to change an assigned Celebrant or Photographer at any time if required. This will not affect the quality of the ceremony or photography experience.
6.3 In the rare circumstance that I Do Drive Thru is unable to source a Celebrant or Photographer for your confirmed date, we will suggest alternative dates. If we are genuinely unable to provide the service, a refund will be issued.
7. Photography Services
7.1 Photography packages can only be purchased in conjunction with a Celebrant package.
7.2 Photographers and Celebrants will be present at the ceremony for a maximum of 30 to 45 minutes for the Vegas and Fancy Pants packages. Additional time beyond this may be charged at an additional fee.
7.3 Photography is booked for one location only. A second location fee of $220 applies for any location more than 150m from the original ceremony location.
7.4 Group photos and extended family photos are not included in the Vegas or Fancy Pants packages unless negotiated and agreed in writing prior to the ceremony at an additional fee.
7.5 All photographers edit images according to their individual style. If a client does not prefer the editing style of their assigned photographer, no refund will be given. Raw unedited images are provided at the photographer's discretion and may attract an additional fee.
7.6 Edited images will be delivered digitally via online gallery within 7 days of the ceremony.
7.7 Photographers reserve the right to protect their equipment in adverse weather conditions and may adjust their position or approach accordingly.
8. Weather and Safety
8.1 Clients are responsible for having a wet weather backup plan for outdoor ceremonies. I Do Drive Thru recommends all couples consider an alternative indoor or sheltered location in advance.
8.2 In the event of dangerous weather conditions — including but not limited to Code Red fire days, flooding, severe storms, or any weather event declared dangerous by the relevant state authority or the Attorney-General's Department — the Celebrant reserves the right to delay, postpone, or relocate the ceremony in the interests of safety. This will not constitute a cancellation and no refund will be issued.
8.3 Where weather conditions are unsuitable but not dangerous, I Do Drive Thru will work with the couple to find the best available solution, including moving undercover, using umbrellas, or waiting for conditions to improve.
9. Locations, Permits and Permissions
9.1 It is the client's sole responsibility to obtain any permits, permissions, or approvals required to hold a ceremony at their chosen location. This includes permissions from councils, government departments, private property owners, Airbnb hosts, and any other relevant stakeholders.
9.2 All external services required for the ceremony — including but not limited to hire cars, floral arrangements, and venue permits — are the client's responsibility to arrange and confirm. I Do Drive Thru accepts no responsibility for third party services.
10. Conduct
10.1 Should any Celebrant or Photographer feel discriminated against, harassed, threatened, or unsafe at any point during the booking process or on the day of the ceremony, they reserve the right to cancel or cease the service immediately. No refund will be given in these circumstances.
11. Privacy and Use of Images
11.1 I Do Drive Thru collects personal information — including names, contact details, and ceremony details — for the purpose of delivering booked services and meeting legal requirements under the Marriage Act 1961.
11.2 I Do Drive Thru may wish to use ceremony photographs for marketing purposes including website, social media, and press. Permission to use images will be sought via our client information sheet prior to the ceremony. If a couple does not grant permission, their images will not be used for marketing.
11.3 Personal information will not be sold or shared with third parties outside of legal and operational requirements.
12. Merchandise
12.1 Physical products will be replaced or refunded if assessed by I Do Drive Thru as defective. The buyer is responsible for return postage costs.
12.2 We do not exchange or refund for incorrect sizes ordered by the client or for products not received within an expected timeframe.
12.3 Merchandise orders are dispatched on Fridays only. Please allow for this when ordering.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
13.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising from a booking with I Do Drive Thru will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
13.2 In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to attempt resolution in good faith before initiating any formal legal proceedings.
