How Easy Is It? This Easy.

From booking to legally married in six steps. Most of them involve nothing more strenuous than a Zoom call and showing up.

1
Book online — takes about 3 minutes

Choose your package, pick your day, pay securely. Ange at our Australian head office receives your booking immediately and gets everything moving. You will hear from us within one business day.

2
Ange assigns your celebrant and photographer

Our Admin Manager Ange — the beating heart of I Do Drive Thru — personally assigns your celebrant and photographer based on your location and date. She has been doing this for four years and she is extraordinary at it. Your celebrant will reach out to introduce themselves.

3
Welcome to the Portal O Love 💕

You will gain access to our Portal O Love — where you choose your ceremony style, decide on vows, and sort the details before the big day. Choose from our pre-written ceremony options or write your own personalised vows. It is all ready and waiting for you.

4
Lodge your NOIM — we handle it

We send you the Notice of Intended Marriage form with clear instructions. Fill it in, return it to us, and we lodge it with BDM on your behalf. This must be done at least one month before your ceremony — so the sooner you book, the sooner this is sorted.

5
Zoom with your celebrant before the day

Meet your celebrant on Zoom before the ceremony. Ask everything. Sort your location, talk through the ceremony, laugh a bit. On the day there are zero surprises — you already know each other, you already know exactly what is going to happen.

6
Show up, get married, receive your certificate

Your celebrant arrives at your chosen location. Two to seven minutes later you are legally married. Your marriage certificate is in your hands. Your marriage is registered with BDM. The rest of the day — and the rest of your life — is entirely yours.

Three Ceremonies. All of Them Perfect.

Whether you want to just sign the paperwork and go, or have something with a little more heart — we have you covered. Every ceremony is legally binding, every celebrant is registered, and there is no wrong way to do this.

✍️ About Personal Vows

Personal vows are available in every package. Here is how it works: under Australian law, every couple must say one short legal sentence during their ceremony — this is the monitum, and it takes about five seconds. Everything after that is entirely up to you. Add your own personalised vows, choose from our pre-written options in the Portal O Love, or just keep it to the legal bit and call it done. No pressure. No judgement.

Meet the I Do Crew

We are not a booking platform. We are not a marketplace. We are a team — 118 handpicked, Commonwealth-registered marriage celebrants operating across every capital city and region in Australia, all working together under one roof since 2020.

Every celebrant in the I Do Crew was personally chosen by our founders. Every one of them holds a current Commonwealth Marriage Celebrant registration and completes their Ongoing Professional Development every year — meaning they know the Marriage Act 1961 inside and out. Every one of them operates from the same ceremony scripts, the same paperwork, and the same high standards. No surprises on the day. You already know exactly what your ceremony will sound like when you meet your celebrant on Zoom beforehand.

💼 Meet Angie — The Centre of Everything

Behind every smooth I Do Drive Thru booking is Angie — our Admin Manager and the person who holds the entire operation together. Angie personally assigns every celebrant and photographer, manages all couple communications, and has been working with us full time for four years. She knows every member of the I Do Crew personally and she knows exactly who to send to your wedding. When you book with us, Angie is in your corner from the first email to the day you walk away married. She is, genuinely, extraordinary.

⚠️ A Note on Other National Celebrant Companies

There are other companies operating nationally that look similar to us on the surface. Here is the difference. Many of them are run by people who are not celebrants or photographers themselves — it is a side hustle. They take your booking, then find someone on platforms like Airtasker to fulfil it. There are no background checks, no team standards, no ongoing relationship with the person who turns up to your wedding. You simply do not know who you are going to get.

Every founder of I Do Drive Thru is a working celebrant with between 10 and 23 years of industry experience. Our team of 118 celebrants have all been personally vetted, personally referenced, and personally trained by us. They have all been working with us since we started in 2020. We meet, we stay in touch, we operate as a genuine team. Your celebrant is not a stranger we found on a gig platform the night before your wedding. They are part of our crew.

No Judgement. Ever. Full Stop.

Some couples want a beautiful 7-minute ceremony with personalised vows, music, an aisle walk, and tears of joy. Some couples want to sign the paperwork, get the certificate, and go out for brunch. Some couples have been together for 20 years and just want it done. Some are getting married for visa reasons. Some have complicated families. Some just genuinely do not care about ceremonies and care very much about the marriage.

All of these are completely valid. Every single one of them ends with the same outcome — a legal, binding marriage registered with BDM, recognised in Australia and internationally. We are not here to tell you what your wedding should look like. We are here to make it happen exactly the way you want it.

You do it your way. We will be there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I write my own vows?

Yes — personal vows are available in every package. Under Australian law, each person must say one short legal sentence during the ceremony. After that, you can add your own personalised vows, choose from pre-written options in our Portal O Love, or keep it to just the legal minimum. Entirely your choice.

What is a paperwork only ceremony?

A paperwork only ceremony — also called a legals only or registry style ceremony — is the Vegas Package: the minimum legal requirements, the signing, and done. Usually about 2 minutes. It is the fastest, simplest, most efficient way to get legally married in Australia. Same legal outcome as any other ceremony. Completely valid.

Can I choose my celebrant?

Celebrants are assigned by Ange, our Admin Manager, based on your location and availability. You cannot choose a specific celebrant — but every member of the I Do Crew has been personally trained by our founders, operates from the same ceremony scripts, and has been with us since we started in 2020. You will meet your celebrant on Zoom before the day, so there are genuinely no surprises.

Are your celebrants actually qualified?

Yes — every celebrant in the I Do Crew holds a current Commonwealth Marriage Celebrant registration under the Marriage Act 1961 and completes their mandatory Ongoing Professional Development every year. Our founding celebrants have between 10 and 23 years of industry experience. These are not people found on a gig platform. They are professionals who have been working with us since the beginning.

How quickly can I get married?

The minimum legal timeframe in Australia is one month — your NOIM must be lodged at least 30 days before the ceremony. If you book today and complete your NOIM immediately, you can be married in as little as 31 days. Book first, sort the paperwork second, everything else falls into place.

Is the ceremony legally valid?

100%. Every ceremony performed by the I Do Crew is legally binding under the Marriage Act 1961 and registered with BDM in the relevant state. Your marriage is recognised nationally and internationally. Same legal outcome as a Registry Office ceremony or a church wedding.

Do I need witnesses?

Yes — Australian law requires two witnesses at every marriage ceremony. If you want to elope with just the two of you, we supply witnesses at $120 each when booked with any I Do Drive Thru service. Your photographer can also serve as one of your witnesses.
