There Is No Government Registry Office in Cairns.
The Queensland Registry Office is in Brisbane. That is a very long way from Palm Cove. Every couple who wants to get legally married in Cairns needs a registered Commonwealth Marriage Celebrant — which is exactly what we provide. Our local Cairns team handles all the paperwork, lodge your NOIM, come to your chosen location, and have you legally married in as little as 2 minutes. No Brisbane trip. No government building. Just the tropics.
Cairns Is Seasonal — Book the Dry Season.
Tropical North Queensland operates on two very distinct seasons. The dry season — April through October — is when Cairns is at its most spectacular. Clear skies, warm days, low humidity, and the kind of light that makes every beach and rainforest photograph look extraordinary. This is peak elopement season and it books up fast.
Where We Will Marry You in Tropical North Queensland
A note on beach permits — all Cairns and TNQ beach ceremonies require a permit from the relevant council. We advise on which permits apply to your location and can help you navigate the process. Costs vary by location and are separate to our ceremony fees.
📋 Beach permits required at all Cairns regional beaches — we help you sort this.
Palm Cove is arguably the most beautiful beach in Tropical North Queensland — soft white sand, tall palm trees leaning over the water, and the Coral Sea in every direction. The natural beauty here requires absolutely no decoration. Permits required. Our team knows the exact process and will guide you through it.
A series of cascading waterfalls and crystal clear pools nestled in lush rainforest just outside Cairns. One of our most spectacular ceremony settings in TNQ — the water, the ferns, and the rainforest canopy create something genuinely extraordinary. Permit may be required — ask us when booking.
The Daintree is the oldest surviving tropical rainforest on earth — over 135 million years old. Getting married here is unlike anywhere else in Australia. The forest canopy, the cassowaries in the undergrowth, and the sheer age of the place make a Daintree ceremony profoundly memorable. Travel fees apply. Worth every dollar.
Four Mile Beach in Port Douglas is one of the great tropical beaches in Australia — an unbroken arc of white sand with the rainforest mountains behind and the Coral Sea ahead. Port Douglas itself has excellent restaurants for a celebration lunch. Permits required. Travel fees apply from Cairns.
The rainforest village of Kuranda in the Atherton Tablelands is a beloved TNQ destination — lush creeks, rainforest walks, and a charming village atmosphere. Stoney Creek in Kuranda is a particularly beautiful ceremony spot with crystal clear water and the sounds of the rainforest all around. Permit required.
A beautiful tropical garden oasis right in the heart of Cairns — orchids, palms, and lush tropical planting with an event permit available through Cairns Regional Council. Perfect for couples who want the tropical garden setting without the travel. Permits and fees apply through the council.
We come to you. No permit required. Many Cairns and Palm Cove accommodation properties have tropical gardens, pool areas, or beachside settings that are perfect for a small ceremony. For destination couples this is often the most relaxed and personal option — arriving, getting settled, and having your celebrant come to you.
Our team covers all of Tropical North Queensland — Mission Beach, the Atherton Tablelands, Mossman, Cape Tribulation, and further afield. Travel fees apply beyond our standard coverage area and will be quoted upfront. If you have a dream location in TNQ, ask us — we have likely been there.
