Not One Beach. Any Beach. Any Location on the Gold Coast.
Some Gold Coast elopement services offer you a single fixed location — one beach, one spot, take it or leave it. We come to wherever you want to be. Burleigh Heads. Currumbin. Coolangatta. Surfers Paradise at sunrise. Springbrook waterfall in the hinterland. Your backyard. Your hotel pool deck. The Broadwater at golden hour. Any Gold Coast location you love — that is where we will meet you.
Where We Will Marry You on the Gold Coast
🏖️ The Beaches
Burleigh is the soul of the Gold Coast — beautiful crescent beach, the national park headland, and the best post-ceremony restaurant strip on the coast. Get married barefoot on the sand, walk up to James Street for lunch, and call it the perfect Gold Coast elopement day. Small ceremonies on the beach generally do not require a permit — submit a notification to Gold Coast City Council.
Currumbin is quieter and more relaxed than the northern beaches — dramatic rock formations, crystal clear water, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes for an extraordinarily intimate ceremony. Free to elope here with no permit required for truly small ceremonies.
The southern end of the Gold Coast — more relaxed, more local, and genuinely beautiful. Coolangatta and Kirra beaches are favourites with surfers and couples who want the Gold Coast without the tourist crowds. Point Danger lookout sits right on the NSW border with panoramic ocean views in both directions.
Surfers Paradise with the skyline behind you is one of the most recognisable Gold Coast images in the world. North Burleigh Hill has panoramic ocean views and is a free ceremony location — no permit needed, just notify the council. Sunrise ceremonies here are extraordinary.
🌿 The Hinterland — Springbrook, Lamington & Beyond
One of the most spectacular and accessible World Heritage rainforests in Australia — just 45 minutes from Surfers Paradise. Purling Brook Falls, Natural Bridge, and the Canyon Lookout all make extraordinary ceremony settings. The mist in the early morning through the Antarctic beech forest is genuinely breathtaking.
Ancient subtropical rainforest, lyrebirds, and waterfalls — Lamington is one of the great World Heritage wilderness areas in Queensland. O'Reilly's and Binna Burra are the two main areas and both have extraordinary ceremony settings for couples who want the deep hinterland experience. We have a celebrant and photography team based in the hinterland.
🌊 Waterways & City
The Broadwater foreshore at Southport and Labrador is beautiful — calm water, the hinterland in the background, and extraordinary golden hour light. The Gold Coast canal network offers private waterway ceremony settings that are completely unlike the ocean beaches. Unique and genuinely beautiful.
We come to you. Many Gold Coast locals get married exactly this way — backyard ceremony, family and close friends, done before the afternoon. Destination couples who fly up and book a hotel or Airbnb can get married on-site with zero permit requirements and zero extra planning. Clean, simple, very Gold Coast.

Burleigh at sunrise? Springbrook waterfall? Your hotel pool deck? Tell us where on the Gold Coast and we confirm availability and any notification requirements upfront. Ange assigns your celebrant and photographer within one business day.
We send you the Notice of Intended Marriage form and lodge it with BDM Queensland on your behalf. Must be lodged at least one month before the ceremony. Destination couples flying up — lodge as soon as you book and the waiting period will be underway before you book your flights.
Meet your celebrant on Zoom. Confirm the location, any council notification for your beach, the ceremony details. Your celebrant advises on the best time for the light at your specific location — sunrise at Burleigh is a very different experience to golden hour at the Broadwater.
Your celebrant meets you at your chosen location. Two to seven minutes later you are legally married in Queensland. Certificate on the day. Marriage registered with BDM Queensland. The beach, the surf, the restaurants, and the rest of your day are entirely yours.
📋 A note on Gold Coast beach permits
Gold Coast beach ceremonies are more relaxed than some other states — for truly small elopement ceremonies (just you, your partner, and witnesses) most Gold Coast beaches simply require a notification to Gold Coast City Council rather than a formal permit. For larger groups or specific locations like Burleigh Heads National Park a permit may apply. Your celebrant advises on exactly what is needed for your specific location and guest count. We have done this many times.
The Gold Coast Is For Every Kind of Couple.
Gold Coast locals who want to get married on their beach before the families get involved. Couples who have been together for years and just decided today is the day — backyard ceremony, kids in the photos, dinner at their favourite Burleigh restaurant. Destination couples flying up from Melbourne or Sydney for a long weekend and a tropical beach ceremony. Interstate and international couples who want Queensland sun and sand. LGBTQ+ couples. Every kind of surfer, foodie, art lover, and nature enthusiast the Gold Coast produces. All of them belong here.
All love. Always. From Coolangatta to the hinterland.
🌿 Acknowledgement of Country
We acknowledge the Yugambeh people as the Traditional Custodians of the Gold Coast region and the land on which we marry our couples. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this region.
🇦🇺 Local Team · Women Led
I Do Drive Thru is an Australian-owned, women-led small business. Our Gold Coast team is locally based — beach and hinterland. They know the locations, the light, the permits, and the best restaurants to head to after. This is their home turf.
🌿 Hinterland team on the ground
We have a dedicated celebrant and photography team based in the Gold Coast hinterland covering Springbrook, Lamington, and the mountain range. Not a city team driving up occasionally — locals who shoot and celebrate in those forests regularly.

For small elopement ceremonies on most Gold Coast beaches — just you, your partner, and a couple of witnesses — a notification to Gold Coast City Council is generally all that is required rather than a formal permit. Larger groups or specific locations like Burleigh Heads National Park may require a council permit. Your celebrant advises on exactly what applies to your specific location and guest numbers.
Burleigh Heads is our most popular — beautiful beach, iconic headland, and the best post-ceremony restaurant strip on the coast. Currumbin is quieter with dramatic rock formations. Coolangatta and Kirra are relaxed and local at the southern end. North Burleigh has panoramic hilltop views. Surfers Paradise with the skyline behind you is one of the most recognisable Gold Coast images. All are excellent — ask your celebrant which best suits your vibe and timing.
Yes — we have a celebrant and photographer team based in the Gold Coast hinterland. Springbrook National Park, Natural Bridge, Purling Brook Falls, and Lamington National Park are all covered. Travel fees apply and are quoted upfront. The hinterland is about 45 minutes from Surfers Paradise and a completely different world to the beaches.
Yes — we come to you. No permit required. Many destination couples who fly up for a Gold Coast elopement get married on-site at their accommodation — pool deck, rooftop, garden, or private balcony. Your celebrant comes to you, the ceremony takes 2 to 7 minutes, and then your Gold Coast day begins properly.
Absolutely. Children, dogs, and any other beloved family members are completely welcome. Many of our most beautiful Gold Coast elopements have included kids, dogs on leads at the beach, and the kind of chaos that makes for genuinely joyful photographs. We do not judge. We do not ask why. We just show up and make it happen.
Barefoot at Burleigh. Mist through Springbrook at sunrise. On the Broadwater at golden hour. In your backyard with the kids and the dog. However the Gold Coast looks for you — from $400, any day, anywhere along the coast.
