The Most Spectacular 250 Kilometres of Elopement Country in Australia.
Most of the world's great elopement destinations require a flight, a passport, and thousands of dollars in travel costs before you have even booked a celebrant. This region requires a car, a full tank, and a willingness to say yes. Geelong and the Great Ocean Road offer everything — dramatic ocean coastline, ancient rainforest, towering waterfalls, limestone sea stacks, and the kind of light that photographers specifically move to this part of Victoria for.
Our Geelong team has one of our founders at its centre and an extraordinary photography team who know every angle of this coastline. This is not an area we service from Melbourne — this is home ground.
Where We Will Marry You
From the Geelong waterfront to Apollo Bay and beyond — here is the full stretch of what our team covers and what our couples choose.
📍 Geelong & Newtown
Corio Bay, the heritage waterfront precinct, and the Geelong Botanical Gardens offer beautiful accessible ceremony settings right in the heart of the city. Ceremony done in minutes, lunch at a waterfront restaurant immediately after. One of the most relaxed and enjoyable elopement day formats we do.
Newtown's 1850s bluestone architecture and wide heritage streets look like they were designed for elopement photography. Ceremony in the botanical gardens, portraits on the heritage streets, lunch in one of Newtown's excellent restaurants. A genuinely beautiful Geelong day.
🏄 Surf Coast — Torquay to Anglesea
The start of the Great Ocean Road and the heart of Australia's surf coast. Beautiful beaches, dramatic cliffs, and the most relaxed coastal energy in Victoria. Barefoot ceremonies at sunrise are extraordinary here before the day-trippers arrive.
Point Addis Marine National Park offers dramatic clifftop lookouts over the Southern Ocean — one of the Surf Coast's most spectacular and least crowded ceremony spots. Kangaroos on the heathland at dawn are an extraordinary bonus.
🌊 Great Ocean Road — Aireys Inlet to Apollo Bay
The white lighthouse at Split Point is one of the most recognisable landmarks on the Great Ocean Road — dramatic clifftop views, wild Southern Ocean below, and a ceremony backdrop that needs no styling whatsoever.
Teddy's Lookout in Lorne overlooks the Erskine River gorge with the ocean beyond — one of the great lookout views in Victoria. Ceremony at the lookout, lunch at one of Lorne's excellent restaurants on the foreshore. The quintessential Great Ocean Road elopement day.
Cape Patton lookout between Lorne and Apollo Bay is one of the most dramatic roadside viewpoints in Australia — sheer cliff, wild ocean, green hills rolling back from the coast. Apollo Bay town is a beautiful base with excellent restaurants and accommodation.
The Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge are among the most photographed locations in Australia. Getting married at dawn before the tourist buses arrive is extraordinary — limestone stacks, Southern Ocean light, and a ceremony that genuinely could not happen anywhere else on earth. Travel fees apply for this distance.
🌿 Otway Ranges — Waterfalls & Rainforest
Deep in the Otway National Park, Triplet Falls cascades in three distinct tiers through ancient myrtle beech forest. Hopetoun Falls drops 30 metres into a fern-lined pool. Both are accessible via short forest walks and both are among the most spectacular waterfall ceremony locations in Victoria.
Melba Gully is one of the wettest places in Victoria — tree ferns over 15 metres tall, ancient myrtle beech, glowworms at night. Maits Rest Rainforest Walk takes you through 300-year-old trees. Both are extraordinary ceremony settings for couples who want the deep rainforest experience.
🗺️ No Radius Limits. No Arbitrary Cutoffs.
Some Geelong elopement operators limit coverage to within 30–60 minutes of Geelong CBD, meaning the Twelve Apostles, the deep Otways, and much of the Great Ocean Road fall outside their standard area and attract additional fees. I Do Drive Thru covers the full stretch — Geelong to the Twelve Apostles and everywhere along the way. Travel fees apply for longer distances and we will always quote upfront — but there are no arbitrary cutoffs that force you to pick a closer location you do not actually want.

Destination couples from interstate or overseas who want the most spectacular stretch of Victorian coastline as their backdrop. LGBTQ+ couples. Couples eloping before heading overseas to celebrate. Couples who have been together for twenty years and simply decided today is the day. We are here for all of them.

🌿 Acknowledgement of Country
We acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the Geelong and Surf Coast region, and the Eastern Maar people of the Great Ocean Road and Otway Ranges. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this coastline.
🇦🇺 Founded Here · Women Led
I Do Drive Thru is an Australian-owned, women-led small business and our Geelong team includes one of our founders. This is not a market we service from Melbourne — it is a region we know deeply, cover completely, and genuinely love.
📸 An extraordinary photography team
Our Geelong photographers are locals who shoot this coastline constantly. They know the light at Triplet Falls at 9am, the golden hour at Cape Patton, and the exact angle at the Twelve Apostles at dawn. This is not work they do occasionally — it is what they do.

Yes — and this is one of our most spectacular ceremony options. Triplet Falls, Hopetoun Falls, Melba Gully, and Maits Rest Rainforest Walk are all accessible for small ceremonies. Short bush walks are involved — wear appropriate shoes. Our team has done many ceremonies deep in the Otways and knows the permits and conditions required.
The Geelong waterfront and Corio Bay foreshore are our most popular Geelong city locations — easy access, beautiful views, and excellent restaurants nearby for lunch after. The Geelong Botanical Gardens are beautiful for a garden ceremony. Newtown's heritage streets are popular for portraits. Eastern Beach and the Belmont foreshore are also lovely options.
It depends on the location and size of your group. Most roadside lookouts and public beaches do not require permits for small ceremonies. Some parks and reserves within the national park may require a Parks Victoria permit. Your celebrant advises on any permit requirements during your Zoom call and can help you navigate the process.
Every season is different and beautiful. Summer brings warm days and golden light but also crowds — go early or on a weekday. Autumn and winter bring dramatic storm light, wild surf, and the feeling of having the whole coast to yourself. Spring brings wildflowers through the Otways. Winter elopements on the Great Ocean Road with a wild Southern Ocean behind you are genuinely extraordinary — they just require the right gear.
Geelong waterfront at golden hour. Barefoot at Torquay. The Otway rainforest at a waterfall. The Twelve Apostles at dawn before anyone else arrives. Wherever the coast calls you — from $400, any day, the full stretch.
